The trip day by day

Day 1 — Arrival in Sardinia & the Island's Authentic Heartland

A different first impression of the Mediterranean.

The journey begins with a flight to Olbia, the gateway to northeastern Sardinia, where you're welcomed by sunshine, the sea, and a slower, more relaxed pace of life.
Leaving the coastline behind, we head inland to Orgosolo, a village full of character, renowned for its striking murales — large-scale murals that tell stories of history, politics, and everyday life.

Your first encounter with authentic Sardinia is immediate—less touristy, more genuine.
We then continue to Sassari, the island's second-largest city and one of its most important cultural centres. Strolling through its historic streets and elegant squares, we arrive at Piazza d’Italia, the heart of the city.

During our tour, we will also see the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, a remarkable example of Baroque architecture that dominates the city's historic centre.

Transfer to the hotel and check-in.

The first day comes to a close at a relaxed pace, with the feeling that the journey has only just begun.

Day 2 — Medieval towns & Catalan Aura

Western Sardinia reveals its most authentic character.

The day begins with breakfast and our departure for Algero, one of Sardinia's most distinctive towns, often referred to as "Little Barcelona" thanks to its strong Catalan influence.

The old town feels like stepping back in time—stone-paved alleyways, imposing medieval walls, and ancient towers overlooking the sea. It is a place rich in character, history, and a unique cultural identity.

One of the area's highlights is the famous Neptune's Grotto, one of the Mediterranean's most spectacular sea caves, accessible either by boat or via the iconic staircase carved into the cliffs leading down to its entrance.

We continue to Castelsardo, one of the island's most picturesque medieval towns, dramatically perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the sea.

At its highest point stands the Doria Castle, the town's landmark, offering breathtaking panoramic views across the coastline.

As we wander through its narrow streets, we soak up the authentic atmosphere and relaxed pace of life, with free time to discover local crafts and regional flavours.

Just outside the town, we will also see the remarkable natural formation Roccia dell’Elefante, a unique natural rock formation resembling an elephant and one of the area's most iconic natural landmarks.

From here, we board the ferry and cross the Strait of Bonifacio, the natural passage that connects — and at the same time separates the two islands.

Arriving in Bonifacio is an impressive experience.

Perched dramatically atop white limestone cliffs, the town creates one of the Mediterranean's most iconic and breathtaking panoramas.

We stroll through the old town, wandering along its narrow streets, past stone houses, and viewpoints that open onto the endless blue of the sea.

We then head to Porto Vecchio, one of Corsica's most renowned seaside resorts, celebrated for its exotic beaches and crystal-clear waters.

The day concludes in Bastia, the island's principal port and a vibrant commercial centre with a distinctive character.

From the coast to the mountains and the homeland of Napoleon.

The day begins with a tour of Bastia, one of Corsica's most authentic cities, where history and character are reflected in every corner.

At the heart of the city lies the impressive Place of Saint Nicolas, one of Bastia's largest and liveliest squares, where the statue of Napoleon I stands as a reminder of the island's deep connection to its most famous historical figure.

Leaving the coastline behind, we head into the island's mountainous interior, crossing the spectacular Corsican National Park — a landscape of rugged mountains, dramatic gorges, and dense forests that reveals Corsica's untamed natural beauty.

We arrive in Corte, the island's former capital, strategically perched in the heart of Corsica.

We explore the historic town, visiting Place Gaffory, home to the monument of the Corsican hero Jean-Pierre Gaffory, as well as the city's most important landmarks.

The experience reaches its highlight at the imposing Citadel of Corte, which dominates the town and offers breathtaking panoramic views over the surrounding mountains and valleys.

We continue to Ajaccio, the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte and one of Corsica's most elegant and cosmopolitan cities.

Our walk takes us through the central Place Charles de Gaulle before continuing along Premier Consul Avenue, revealing the city's elegant architecture and unmistakable French charm.

We then arrive at Place Maréchal Foch, where the Town Hall, the Cathedral and the very impressive Palais Fesch are located, the latter of which is Corsica's most important cultural landmarks.

Early in the afternoon, we depart for Cargèse, a unique village founded by Greek settlers in the 18th century and renowned for its enduring Greek heritage.

Here, we visit the Byzantine Orthodox Church, where icons brought from Greece are still preserved, along with its beautifully crafted traditional iconostasis.

As we stroll through the village, we discover streets bearing Greek names—such as Odos Ellados (Greece Street), Mani Street, and Oitylo Street—creating a surprising sense of familiarity.
